I completely adore him. So incredible.
Tom Petty
This past weekend was my friend Erin’s 21st birthday and it was a super fun weekend full of cocktails and dancing. My body is undergoing detox for the next couple days in recovery.
The most depressing thing about growing up is watching people lose their sense of spontaneity. They think they’re becoming mature and responsible, but really they’re just becoming afraid. Afraid of falling on their ass. Afraid of getting hurt. Afraid of appearing foolish. Luckily, I don’t surround myself with the likes of these people.
So, Happy Birthday girl! I hope you had a great one!

Amazing. I cannot wait to see the QUEEN movie with Sacha Baron Cohen.

A friend of mine recently introduced me to a fashion designer named Thierry Mugler and his muse Rick Genest aka “Zombie Boy” and I’ve become completely infatuated with him! It was Lady Gaga’s stylist and Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti that discovered him on Facebook and asked him to walk in the Mugler fashion show at Paris fashion week. What’s so intriguing about Rick Genest, is that there are so many things about him that defy convention. In January he was just a bum on the street in Montreal, doing everything from window cleaning to performing as a circus freak to pay for his next tattoo, and now he’s walking the catwalk at fashion week in Paris. From his full body living dead tattoos, to his burgeoning Facebook fame, to his appearance in Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” video, to his runway debut at the Thierry Mugler show at Paris fashion week. People would have been terrified of this 20 years ago and now he’s a fashion superstar. Incredible.
The first day of 2011 and so far so good. Ever notice how the nights you think are going to be complete shit turn into some of the best nights? Thats what happened last night. I brought in the new year with two of my best, then made our way around the rowdy streets of the Ridge.
I’m starting this year off on a positive foot, I’m not even going to bother making a new years resolution because I know I wont keep it. I suppose I’ll keep it simple.
here’s a little bit of what went down last night.

I wake up covered in glitter!! Now I know how Kesha feels.
There was a sun once.
It lit the whole damn sky.
It kept everything alive.
And there was a man once.
He looked it straight in the eye.
He saw everything.
He went blind.
I finally got my Internet back! after a very long week without it.I felt like I was living in the stone age for the past 5 days. But now I’m back and ready to catch up.
My dreams lately have been quite vivid. This one in particular stood out that shook me something fierce, and has stayed with me since. I spent that whole morning sleepwalking through the foggy remnants of the dream last ventured before awakening. Ive never been particularly scared of the Grimm reaper but this dream has put him in a different perspective. I keep having the reoccurring dream that I’m sinking to the bottom of a lake while I look up at him floating to the top. Wierd right??
On a lighter note, I had a good weekend. Celebrating the end of finals and had a farewell fiesta for my friend Donna who’s moving to LA. Unfortunalty I could not get in to the intended club so we had to relocate down the block. Thankfully only one more month of that bullshit.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
The new Kings of Leon album Come Around Sundown came out last week, and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. I like that they aren’t trying to replicate the success they got from Only By The Night on this album. It’s completely different-granted the songs on the new album take a little longer to grow on you but it’s worth the wait. They announced that they took a different approach with this album and Caleb ad libbed the lyrics and didn’t write any in advance, but I wouldn’t say their lyrics were lacking in the slightest.
One of my favorite songs on the album is Back Down South because they haven’t written anything like this before, I don’t remember them ever sounding this vulnerable and personal. It’s a gorgeous song with a country twang.
Another one of my favorites is Birthday, but despite the vague title it’s a love it or hate it kind of song with a catchy bastard of a melody. I love it.
Mi Amigo is another good one with some questionable lyrics, but it wouldn’t be a KOL album without them.
So despite what others may think about this being a letdown after Only By The Night, I think otherwise. They went in a new direction and took a chance on this album, so all in all I like it a lot.
Go listen to it.
